MUSIC FOR BEIRUT

Let’s offer a lifeline to those who need it most

Join us for an evening of solidarity at De Centrale in Ghent, as we come together to support the people of Beirut. In response to the recent Israeli attacks, millions have been displaced, left without food, shelter, and basic necessities, and are in desperate need of assistance.

The event will feature live performances by two remarkable Lebanese acts, Snakeskin & Kid Fourteen.

All proceeds will be directed to grassroots organizations on the ground, providing daily meals to families in need.

Additionally, Simsim Food will offer Palestinian cuisine for purchase, with all profits going toward donations.

Your presence and contributions can make a real difference for those enduring these critical times.

Snakeskin is an experimental electronic dream pop duo from Beirut. The duo consists of producer and musician Fadi Tabbal and singer/musician Julia Sabra, who is also known from the indie band Postcards. Their music is described as atmospheric, dreamy and sometimes even ominous, with influences from ambient and industrial sounds. Their latest album, "They Kept Our Photographs", will be released on September 29, 2024 via the London label Mais Um. This album builds on their critically acclaimed 2022 debut, which was made in the aftermath of the devastating explosion at the port of Beirut in 2020.

Kid Fourteen is the solo act of Paris-based Lebanese musician Khodor Ellaik. He once started his musical journey as the frontman of the punk band Beirut Scum Society and later as part of the no-wave band Friendly Faces. Under the name Kid Fourteen he makes a mix of experimental pop and punk. His latest album "A Brief Emotional Dragon" was released in 2023, and he remains active in both Europe and the Middle East.
