The Chansons projects are musical paintings. Sober, melancholic and musing, the trio immerses the listener in a world where there are no national, genre or cultural boundaries. Where one can pause for a moment, look back at what has been and dream about what is yet to come. Reinforced by the feeling of being trapped during a lockdown, like birds that are not allowed to fly to distant lands and can only sing about them. Songs without words mixed with dreamy mazurkas, Breton gavottes, African reels, Balkan grooves, evocations about Etna to exuberant improvisations.

Wouter Vandenabeele: violin
Tom Theuns: guitars, mandolin, mandocello
Bao Sissoko: kora
