On May 23, 20215 they performed as a trio on one of our stages during Les Goûts de Gand. For The Heartbeat Sessions this excellent Eastern European ensemble will be expanded with an extra violinist. The Valenki Quartet mainly plays Eastern European music and klezmer; better known as "Yiddish" or "wedding music". They bring a mix of dance music, traditional rituals and listening music. And with the necessary imagination also a little bit of Nancy Sinatra, but in Russian of course. Come and see that (from your own seat, that is) and immerse yourself in the musical tradition of our distant eastern neighbors, nice and cozy under a fleece blanket and with your (indoor) valenki on.
