ULISSES ROCHA

Ulisses Rocha is considered as one of the finest guitarist- composers of Brasil. Together with André Geraissati, Guinga, Paulo Belinnati and Marco Pereira he belongs to Brasil’s top 5.

In Belgium he performs especially solo, but in Brasil , he is specially known from his collaborations with Egberto Gismonti, Hermeto Pascoal, Al Di Meola, Eliane Elias, Marco Pereira, Paulo Bellinati and the US rockband Living Colours.

His style is characterized by the unique combination  of the typical Brazilian guitar (flamenco, Bossa Nova, Samba,….) with US blues and rock.

During his concerts he takes his audience on a journey through Brasil, outlines areas and dishes; talks about (and plays) his main influences such as Baden Powell, Garoto, Egberto Gismonti, Udo Lubo, Villa-Lobos, Astor Piazzola, Jan Akkerman, Jimmy Page, Richie Blackmore and ... besides his own compositions of course!
