He is also called the godfather of the Arabic song: Mohammed Abdel Wahad(1903-1991) wrote over 1800 songs and partly because of him the modern Arab sound emerged.He wrote for legendary singers like Oum Kalthoum and left a very impressive oevre, people still listen to daily, from Casablanca to Baghdad .
The Amsterdam Andalusian Orchestra, together with Arabic musicians from the Netherlands and Belgium, pays homage to this musical monument.
With among others Karima El Fillali, Abderrahim Semlali, Jamil Al Asadi, Latif Obaidi, Ahmed Khaili, Haytham Safia and Abir El Abed.
