THE BIG FOLK 'N' IRISH NIGHT #04

MissT XL + BRISK

It is about to happen soon!  Two great musical acts on the stage of De Centrale. For the 4th  consecutive year, we organize the BIG FOLK ‘n IRISH NIGHT: a magical night full of music and singing, hosted  and presented by likeable Ghentian – Irish singer-songwriter ‘Daithi Rua’. Again with two amazing musical acts. This year 'MissT XL' and 'BRISK' are on stage.

BRISK

Brisk focuses on Anglo-Saxon and Breton music. If you know that Gunnar Van Hove (flute & whistles) and Jeroen Knapen (guitar, vocals) are part of the group, this is  not surprising of course. They played some years ago as DAOU on the stages of Zilleghem Folk, M'eire Morough, 't Ey ... The ever-likeable singer and bodhran player Wim Moons has also been on stage for several decades. Naomi Vercauteren completes the picture. She does not only add feminine charm to the group but also (Irish) violin work of the highest level.
Lively & quick, sharp & stimulating … it just sounds Brisk!

MissT XL

A MissTic musical journey with spotlight on the cultural diversity of Europe
During the summer of 2017, MissT was selected to play at the Ferrara Busker Festival (Italy). It immediately became the start of an international career.
The quintet brings folk songs from the four corners of the world and in different languages. They often pick up somewhat forgotten songs from under the dust, five-part and a capella. Compare the sound color of MissT best with a good bottle of brut nature: stimulating, fair and completely natural.
MissT are Elly Aerden, Liesbeth Verlaet, Liesbet Van Reeth, Eva Moens and Jan Van Rossem, supplemented for this occasion with guest musicians Jowan Merckx and Jorg D'hondt.
