TERESA SALGUEIRO

‘Alegria’ - beyond Madredeus

Teresa Salgueiro is the former frontwoman of Madredeus. Her tour is named after a poem by José Saramago from the collection “Provavelmente Alegria” (1970).
Teresa Salgueiro looks back on her solo career, from the moment she left Madredeus in 2007. She achieved her greatest successes as a singer-songwriter with albums such as “O Mistério” (2013) and “O Horizonte” (2016).
With Alegria, Teresa Salgueiero chose her favorite folk songs from different corners of the world, in addition to new arrangements of her own work. They are all warm memories of the places Teresa visited during her long career and perfectly reflect her view of the world. They illustrate her unique gift to translate that look into fine music, with the versatility of her distinctive voice and in the company of fantastic musicians.
