SOLD OUT - KAYHAN KALHOR & ERDAL ERZINCAN

A Exceptional Fusion of Iranian and Turkish Music

Kayhan Kalhor and Erdal Erzincan possess an in-depth knowledge and background of the music cultures in which they grew up: Iranian classical and regional styles and Turkish folk and Alevi music. Both play important instruments from their respective cultures: the Iranian kamancheh and the Turkish bağlama. As top artists and representatives of these two musical worlds, they are exceptionally well-placed to engage in dialogue with other music styles.

Since their first musical encounter in 2006, their collaboration has evolved into a high-level, intimately intertwined, and mutually inspiring musical narrative. The Iranian and Turkish sounds, modes, and melodies blend so naturally that it is often difficult to distinguish which elements come from which culture. This musical kinship is exceptional and results in a unique listening experience.

Together, they have conquered concert stages worldwide and released a highly acclaimed album: The Wind (ECM, 2006). For those who missed their sold-out concert on April 18, 2022, at De Centrale, today offers a new chance to experience this iconic duo live!
