Okkupeerder CD release + support A School Called Tribe

Okkupeerder is the Ghent hip-hop collective based on drummer Jan Heirman. Four musicians and two wordsmiths bring a fierce mix between rap, slam poetry, hip hop and jazz. Do not expect golden chains and scantily clad dancers (a pity but unfortunately), but in terms of rhyme and instrumental performances of the highest quality. At the beginning of October 2018 a video clip of the single  "360 °" was released. In 2019 the long awaited second album "Ergens Onderweg" will be released.

support A School Called Tribe

For a number of years, De Centrale has been a partner in the A School Called Tribe (aSCT) project, a musical Urban movement and an art-educational workplace where young people from various backgrounds work socially and artistically.
aSCT organizes musical gatherings for young people with different backgrounds, but with a common interest in hip hop, slam poetry and jazz.
By bringing these young people who work with music “streetwise” and young people who follow “classical” music education (DKO, Arts High School, Conservatorium), aSCT creates an interesting social added value. They not only give young people a musical-narrative outlet, but at the same time encourage socially critical reflection and activism.
Get ready for ‘A School Called Tribe’, a highly inflammable, unpredictable cocktail of hip hop, slam poetry & jazz!
