Mustafa Aydin was born in Elbistan, Turkey, in a Kurdish-Alevi family. He moved with his family to Istanbul at the age of 7 and grew up there. Like his father, he plays bağlama (saz) and also tembur (a smaller, typical Alevi instrument). His repertoire consists of Kurdish, Alevi and Turkish (protest) music. For the occasion Mustafa brings two musical friends: Jan van Liefferinge (guitar) and Amjad Khan (tabla).
