JAWA MANLA TRIBUTE TO FAIRUZ ☆ HEARTBEAT WOMEN's DAY

on the occasion of 'International Women's Day'

Jawa Manla (Aleppo, 1996) is an oudplayer and singer from Syria who carries Arab music deep in her heart. At a very young age she was inspired by the well-known voices from the Arab world.

She has a special fondness for Fairuz (Lebanon, 1933), one of the greatest singers in recent Arab music history. Fairuz, like her generation peers Umm Kalthum, Asmahan and Warda, has given the voice of the Arab woman a prominent place on the world stage. Along with tens of millions of fans, musicians, singers and poets are not forthcoming about the impact of these voices on music and society.

Jawa Manla honors Fairuz's repertoire with her beautiful voice and refined oud playing. Accompanied by the Amsterdam Andalusian Orchestra, Jawa makes a journey through the repertoire of this grande dame of Arabic music. She brings a balanced musical variety of Western musical influences, Eastern instruments with delicate solo improvisations and breathtaking vocals.

Go on a journey and enjoy this unique live stream from your living room at home,on the occasion of 'International Women's Day' (08/03).
