Since the late 1960s, IBIDIKLAR has been creating a furor in the privacy of Turkish family celebrations. The band is considered one of the most important guardians of the intangible heritage of the Turkish Roma or Abdals in Ghent. Now, with the 3rd generation of IBIDIKLAR, they still find their way to the stages of wedding parties. Occasionally they even pop up in the program of a (world) music festival, where a wider audience can enjoy their unadulterated Turkish Roots music. This style of music combines the traditional sounds of central Anatolia with those of Turkish Abdals. For music lovers, IBIDIKLAR may be the best kept secret of the Turkish music scene in our area.
