GAÏSHA + Souma

Oriental Psychedelic Dance Night

Gaïsha is a collaboration between the Belgian-Moroccan singer Aicha Haskal and Les Cerveaux Lents. Les Cerveaux Lents was founded in 2002 by musicians from Absynthe Minded and Va Fan Fahre. The acoustic sextet followed musical paths of Jewish and Arabic sounds and, as an occasional group, caused a furore at many weddings and funerals. The accordion is now exchanged for a 70's organ and analog synths. The acoustic guitar and double bass are hanging on the willows and make way for psychedelic sounds and funky grooves.
Aicha Haskal was part of the collective Va Fan Fahre, from 2007 to 2013. Together they released the album 'Al Wa'Debt' in 2010, which resulted in a surprisingly natural fusion between Balkan brass and Arabic music. Her smooth, warm voice effortlessly switches between Arabic inflections, parlando and even rap.
