CARMINHO

The Portuguese fado singer Carminho  comes to De Centrale for the second time, this time to present her  album, canto. Carminhos first record “Fado”(2009) immediately got platinum in Portugal. With her second album “Alma” (2012) she also conquered the rest of the world step by step. Her newest and third record is a following step in her already brilliant career.
Carminho is considered to be the most talented fado singer of her generation and belongs in a series of fado singers like Amália Rodrigues, Mariza en Cristina Branco.
Carminho is not only praised for her unique voice, but also for the expressive way she brings her repertory. She mixes the authentic fado influences from the Portuguese and Brazilian folk music, jazz, pop and rock to an exquisite perfection and the adjacent Iberian cocktail. Her last passage in De Centrale in November 2014 undeniably belongs to one of the best concerts ever.
