Barrio Latino

This duo presents a blend of Latin-American songs, French chansons, and original compositions in Dutch, Spanish, French, and English. Singer and saxophonist Francis Cromphout, known from bands like De Lochte Gentenaars and Ledebirds, joins guitarist Jurriaan Cosman at the core of the project 'De Nacht Betrapt', featuring 12 original compositions. Both musicians are professionally trained and bring an energetic atmosphere to the stage.

Francis Cromphout has a rich musical history, from Cajun and Zydeco with 'Cuisine Cajun' to Latin-Jazz fusion with 'Café con Leche', and a tour de chant featuring songs by Boris Vian in 'En aVian la Zizique'. He has performed at festivals and cultural venues across the Low Countries, Germany, and France.

Jurriaan Cosman, guitarist and music instructor at the Sint-Niklaas Music Academy, graduated from the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp and is skilled in various genres including classical, jazz, tangos, and boleros.
