At a fasıl evening, you enjoy delicious mezze and rakı, which are Turkish appetizers and the national Turkish aniseed spirit, in accordance with tradition. During the Ottoman period, this light classical music resonated in palaces and elegant homes. Today, you mainly hear it in the restaurants of Istanbul, as a fasıl is not complete without a table full of food and drink.
