After their first CD, "Boîte de Carton", Belcirque is ready to present their latest jewel, "The Tallest Man". The nine songs that can be found on this album, immediately catapult you to the far corners of their imaginary and colorful world. At recording they got the musical help of Bart Maris on trumpet and Yves Peeters on percussion. In De Centrale you get Belcirque in its purest form: six young ladies who with their delicious polyphonic chants, double bass, guitars, brass and percussion form a quirky and swinging whole. In their compositions you will find influences from among others barbershop, pop, balkan and jazz. Their playful mimics and eccentric costumes decorate the act with a self- relativating wink. Curious what it does when this ‘tallest Man’ uncovers his absurd stories!
BELCIRQUE is Ondine Cantineau, Astrid Creve, Julia Emmery, Kris Auman, Marijke Hellemans and Seraina De Block & special guest Yves Peeters on drumming stuff.
